Q: What time does the Half Marathon, 5K, Kids Marathon, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk start?
A: The Half Marathon and 5K start at 7:00 AM CST on Saturday, March 20th with the Kids’ Mini-Marathon and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk starting at 7:30am. All races start and finish in downtown Baton Rouge at North Blvd. Town Square.
Q: Is there a time limit?
A: Yes, the half marathon has a 4 hour course limit.
Q: Where are the Aid Stations?
A: The Aid Stations are located approximately every 1.5 miles along the route and serve both water and electrolyte fluid replacement.
Q: Where should I park?
A: There is ample parking available downtown. DO NOT PARK ON THE RACE COURSE – YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE TOWED. Participants who plan to drive to the event should plan ahead and be familiar with the downtown parking.

Q: What if I can’t finish the race?
A: There will be a sag wagon following the last participants of the race. Anyone who cannot finish, or cannot keep up with the 18 minute/mile minimum pace will be moved forward on the course or picked up from the course.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The race will happen rain or shine. If inclement weather is present race management may delay the start. If lighting is present we will delay until it is deemed safe to run by local authorities. Please check local weather prior to race morning to dress & prepare properly for whatever weather there may be.
All entry fees are non-refundable. The Amazing Half Marathon reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule in the event of inclement weather, emergency, or natural disaster. In the event of such a cancellation, there will be no refund of entry or processing fees.
Q: When does the race officially end?
A: 11:00 AM local time.
Q: Where can I check my gear during the race?
A: Gear check is provided on Saturday for all participants, and is located at the western edge of town square lawn
Q: What are the different awards divisions?
A: Awards will be given in the half & 5K to the overall Top 3 M/F; overall master winner (M/F 40+); overall grand master winner (M/F 50+); overall great-grand master winner (M/F 60+); and the top three M/F of each age group. Overall Awards will be announced and presented during the post-race party. Age group awards may be retrieved from the registration tent post-race. Awards must be picked up on race day; they will not be mailed after the event.
Age groups are as follows for the Amazing Half : 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and over*.
Age groups are as follows for the Amazing 5K: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and over*.
*if there are runners over the age of 89, an additional age group category will be created for the appropriate 5 year window as detailed above.
Please note that Overall awards are based on Gun Time, all age group awards are based on chip/tag time, NOT gun time.
Q: Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
A: Yes. If someone is picking up your packet, please give the person who is picking up your packet a printed photocopy of your government issued ID.
Q: Where is packet pickup?
A: Packet pickup will be at The Our Lady of The Lake Children’s Hospital Main Lobby on Friday March 19th from 11:00am- 6:00pm located at:
8300 Constantin Boulevard
Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
Race morning packet pickup will also be available from 5:30am- 6:15am on race morning at the race site. We highly encourage you getting your packet on Friday.
Q: I have a friend who cannot participate in the event, can I take his/her place?
A: Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race official must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using another person’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
Q: Are strollers allowed?
A: Yes. The 5K & Half Marathon will feature a stroller wave that starts approximately 5 minutes before the field starts. This will allow our Ainsley’s Angels runners & chairs, as well as parents pushing strollers, to get a clean start then move to the side as the open field of runners and walkers start the race.
Q: How do I switch races?
A: Want to change from the Half to the 5K, or maybe upgrade your distance from the 5K to the Half? Runners will be able to log into the registration site and make the change themselves.

Q: How do I defer to next year? I’m injured and cannot run.
A: Deferral is available through the registration page on this site. You will need your transaction code sent in the confirmation email that came following your registration. The deferral fee is $10. Deferrals will be allowed up until March 6, 2021. All requests made after March 6, 2021 cannot be deferred due to the nature of race preparations and fulfillments.
Q: Where can I get a look at the AMAZING Medals?
A: The 2021 AMAZING medals can be viewed on Facebook & Instagram when they are finalized.
- How far is the Kids’ Mini Marathon?
A: The Kids’ Mini Marathon features a 1 mile and 1/2 mile run. These races provide even our youngest runners the chance to feel the exhilaration of crossing the finish line. Open to kids of all ages, parents can select the distance that best suits their child’s physical fitness. All kids will be issued the same Kids’ Mini Marathon race bibs regardless of distance chosen and receive the same finisher medal.
