Fundraising with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Amazing Half Marathon

In one of the most anticipated groundbreakings in recent years, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital kicked off construction of the first freestanding children’s hospital in Louisiana in more than 40 years last year. This endeavor will dramatically change the pediatric healthcare landscape in Louisiana, creating a network of pediatricians, pediatric specialists and healthcare providers offering children the best healthcare possible all across Louisiana.

This project would not be possible without the ongoing philanthropic support of our communities. Through your financial gifts, YOU help make a significant difference in the lives of our patients. The Amazing Half Marathon encourages families to get outside and be active, and provides an incredible opportunity to improve the lives of our children for generations to come.

Fundraising Details

Our Lady of the Lake Amazing Half Marathon offers fundraising opportunities through Donor Drive, a mechanism to measure and plot out a fundraising timeline for your goal commitment. 

Each fundraising runner has the opportunity to earn their race registration, plus some unique and exciting race perks as a thank you for your commitment. Upon registering as an Amazing Fundraiser here, you will begin receiving updates on your fundraising progress.

A spot will be held for you, but you will not be officially registered for the race until you meet at least $500 of your fundraising goal by February 1, 2018.

Using your Donor Drive fundraising page, you can create personal emails, social posts, and other inter-personal communications to help you greatly improve the chances of success in fundraising. Updates on your “distance-to-goal” in fundraising and race training are great methods of driving engagement with your friends and family.

Our team will correspond with you via email about deadlines and requirements.  We will notify you at each point you complete an incentive level. So, if a runner has committed to $2,500 in fundraising, we will notify the runner once they reach the $500 level and then again at the $1,500 level. 

Fundraising Levels

In addition to all the Amazing Half Marathon race swag that comes to every participant, our fundraising runners will be entitled to several perks of fundraising with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.  The perks vary by fundraising commitment level but all of our fundraisers will receive white-glove treatment race weekend with special recognition.

Commitment

Runners commit to have their fundraising pledge fulfilled by Thursday, February 1, 2018. 

Any runner who wishes to continue fundraising beyond the deadline and having met their minimum commitment will be entered into a post-race fundraising competition. The post-race fundraising competition will close on March 31, 2018, allowing runners to utilize the final training weeks, race weekend, and 3 weeks following the race as momentum to further exceed their commitment to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital appreciates the contributions of all Amazing Half Marathon fundraisers, and for those electing to fundraise post-race, incentive awards will be:

  • $1,000 over race commitment: $100 Gift Card
  • $2,000 over race commitment: $200 Gift Card
  • $3,000 over race commitment: $300 Gift Card
  • $4,000 over race commitment: $400 Gift Card

Deadlines must be met in order to receive all the Amazing Fundraising benefits. As an Amazing Fundraiser, each individual runner is responsible for donating the difference between funds raised and the minimum due in order to secure race entry.

By reaching the fundraising minimums set in place, your generous and concerted fundraising efforts ensure that Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital recovers the cost of your participation and continues the focused growth of the hospital and tailored care for Louisiana’s kids.

Refund & Downgrade Policy:

What happens if you fundraise only a percentage of your goal? We’ve got you covered! Downgrade from fundraising registration to regular registration can be accomplished by:

Current Race Registration Rate * Percent of Fundraising Not Yet Achieved= Rate Due

Ex: So, for a race with an $80 registration and an individual who had achieved 60% of their fundraising goal, they would calculate: $80 * 40% = $32 Due. Each downgrade registrant will be given a unique code to use for regular registration.

Downgrade from a fundraising registration to a regular registration must be completed by February 1, 2018.  All races subject to sell outs, and no downgrade registration can be guaranteed in this method.

Because Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital depends on the generosity of our community, refunds and/or transfers of fundraising registration cannot be granted. Any funds raised or donated by a participant that withdraws or downgrades stay with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.

Not A Fundraiser but Want to Help #BuildAmazing?

We understand that there are some runners who care deeply about Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital vision and new freestanding campus but may not be fundraisers. That’s OK. We have a solution for you too: Run Team Amazing.

Our Team Amazing runners will register in our regular registration system and will pay the current registration rate for their chosen race plus a $300 donation. Our Team Amazing runners will get all the Amazing Half Marathon swag plus the designated package below.
